Who Am I

I am a data scientist specializing in applications to black hole radio astronomy, high performance computing and Bayesian statistics. I am currently a Research Associate at the Black Hole Initiative at Harvard University funded through an Harvard Data Science Initiative Amazon Web Services Impact Computing grant. I am also a member of the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) collaboration and the Black Hole Explorers project for which I am the chief data scientist. Previously I was a Ph.D. student at the University of Waterloo and Perimeter Institute.

My research focuses on developing new algorithms the blend data science, statistics, with scientific models to learn about the universe. I am particularly interested in black holes and radio astronomy and open source scientific software development. I am the co-lead of the EHTJulia organization with Professor Kazu Akiyama.
